TimePlan Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and nurturing KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Oldham. This role is available for an immediate start and offers a fantastic opportunity to support pupils within a Key Stage 1 classroom, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and supportive learning experiences.

The Role

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons across the KS1 curriculum
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils who require additional help
  • Assist with phonics, early reading and writing activities
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor and support pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working within a Key Stage 1 classroom
  • Knowledge or experience of phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds or similar
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children’s development and learning
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)
