We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in Guildford that is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant from September.
This role will involve supporting individual pupils in the classroom, including children with SEND. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.
The Role
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Provide targeted support for children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs.
- Help adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEND or a genuine interest in developing within this area.
- Is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping every child succeed.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works effectively as part of a team and can use their own initiative.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
