We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Construction Instructor to join a supportive SEMH educational setting in North London. This is a hands-on role working with young people who benefit from practical, vocational learning approaches.

Role: Construction Instructor (School-Based Role)

Location: Enfield

Contract: Full-time / Term-time

Setting: SEMH Secondary School

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, practical construction sessions to small groups of students
  • Support students in developing vocational skills, confidence, and independence
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive workshop environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning and behavioural needs
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support student progress and wellbeing

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in construction trades such as acrylic work / basic fabrication, bricklaying, or tiling
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people through practical learning
  • Calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment
  • Experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
