Timeplan Education is seeking a Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Bushey that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible, well suited to individuals with experience in SEN or SEMH or those with personal experience and a strong passion for working with vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students aged 11–16 with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
- Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with teaching staff to tailor support to individual student needs
- Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Experience:
- Working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (or lived experience)
- A calm, confident, and adaptable approach to behaviour and emotional challenges
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students
- Team players who can also work independently when needed
- A genuine desire to help students overcome barriers and succeed
Ideal for Individuals Who Are:
- Graduates in Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Considering a PGCE, Master’s, or PhD in SEN, Education, or Child Psychology
