We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join our vibrant Primary Special School.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with complex learning needs and disabilities.
Our pupils are aged 4–11 and have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Physical disabilities and complex medical needs
- Social, emotional and behavioural needs associated with their learning difficulties
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, Therapists, Families and Multi-Agency Professionals.
- Develop and implement individual learning programmes and EHCP outcomes.
- Use a range of communication approaches, including Makaton, PECS, visual supports and assistive technology where appropriate.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, however small.
- Support pupils\' communication, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly within a specialist or inclusive setting.
- Demonstrates patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children with complex needs.
- Has a creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
