We are looking for a caring and committed Secondary Design Technology Teacher to help us change the lives of children who require our help and educational support.

We are looking for:

– A reflective practitioner, with high quality classroom skills.

– A teacher who relishes the challenge of reengaging disengaged learners through positive activities and outcomes including vocational, hands on, active learning.

– An ability to teach Design Technology in line with the National Curriculum

– Someone who is an outstanding practitioner, effectively delivering both theoretical and practical elements of learning.

– Somebody who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working.

– Experience of working with SEMH children is desirable, however we will consider candidates with an enthusiasm and willingness to promote effective, inclusive education for our children.

– Someone who understands a therapeutic approach or a willingness to embrace the Timeout approach into their teaching.

About Us:

Timeout Children’s Homes is a family run organisation which specialises in providing one to one therapeutic residential childcare for children aged 6 – 17 years who have suffered abuse and neglect in their lives, alongside with providing education to children including those in our care, focusing on the Therapeutic approach. We currently have three schools; Riverbank Primary School (Ofsted rated good with Outstanding features) which has children aged 6-11, Brearley Hall School (Ofsted rated good) and a recently opened Brookland School which is situated in a grand 19th Century Victorian house, both these secondary schools provide education to children aged 11-16. All schools have a reduced number of students to provide a 1-1 approach and provide the best level of care and education to help them excel and succeed after education.
