This is an exciting opportunity for the Electrical Construction Manager to work for the Biggest Carbon Capture project in the UK. This is a prestigious project to be working on!

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of a 275kV EHV underground cable installation project as part of a major Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) development in Teesside. This role will focus on the safe and efficient delivery of cable installation activities, including cable pulling, jointing, testing support and subcontractor coordination. The successful candidate will manage site teams and interfaces with civil contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage 275kV cable installation activities including pulling, jointing and testing support
  • Coordinate subcontractors, jointing teams and specialist suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with RAMS, ITPs, permits and quality procedures
  • Monitor construction progress and report risks, issues and resource requirements
  • Lead daily site briefings, toolbox talks and look-ahead planning
  • Coordinate access, logistics and construction interfaces with the wider project team
  • Maintain quality records and handover documentation
  • Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager on EHV underground cable projects
  • Strong experience with 275kV and ideally 400kV cable systems
  • Experience managing cable pulling subcontractors and EHV jointing teams
  • Strong understanding of RAMS, ITPs, permits and quality documentation
  • Excellent leadership, planning and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to work on site in Teesside from September 2026 to August 2027
