About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Consultant in Decarbonisation to lead strategic sustainability and energy reduction projects across the built environment, supply chains, and transportation networks. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in energy management, carbon assessment, and sustainability consultancy, who is confident working with major organisations to shape and deliver net-zero strategies. You’ll bring both technical expertise and project leadership experience, working across sectors to guide clients on their decarbonisation journey. You’ll join a high-performing, collaborative team where your insights will directly influence sustainability outcomes for major UK and EU-based clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver client projects focused on energy reduction, carbon footprinting, and decarbonisation strategy (Scopes 1–3).
  • Carry out carbon and energy assessments of buildings, transport operations, and supply chains, using leading methodologies and tools.
  • Develop Carbon Reduction Plans (CRPs) and contribute to ESG and sustainability reporting, ensuring alignment with evolving UK and EU regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on energy systems, low-carbon technologies, and lifecycle emissions, particularly within the built environment.
  • Facilitate workshops and board-level sessions to communicate sustainability risks and opportunities in a commercial context.
  • Support clients in embedding sustainability into business strategy, procurement, and risk management processes.
  • Manage project delivery – timelines, budgets, and quality – across multiple clients and sectors.
  • Lead or support proposal development and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through additional service offerings.
  • Mentor junior consultants, helping them grow their technical and consulting capabilities.

Professional and Personal Attributes

  • 5+ years of experience in a sustainability or energy consultancy role, with proven delivery of carbon and energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of energy management, building physics, and supply chain decarbonisation.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, IES VE, SAP, SBEM, RDSAP.
  • Familiarity with key sustainability and energy standards: ISO 14001, ISO 14064, ISO 50001, and lifecycle assessment frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills – from scoping and planning through to execution and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex data and ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Qualified Non-Domestic or Domestic Energy Assessor (SBEM Level 1–4).
  • PAS 2030 / 2035 experience or CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant accreditation.
  • Knowledge of digital twins, whole-life costing, or EN 15978 / EN 15643 standards.
  • Experience working with corporate sustainability teams, boards, or high-profile clients across sectors.

If you’re passionate about accelerating the transition to net zero and have the experience to drive meaningful change, we’d love to hear from you.
