If you're a senior HV design engineer sitting behind a design manager who isn't going anywhere, this is the step up!
We're hiring a Lead HV Design Engineer for a multi-utility ICP delivering across a multi-utility environment.
You'd own the design function: engineers reporting to you, technical authority on the complex jobs, and the final word on what gets submitted to the DNO.
It's a genuine mix.
You'll still design, but you'll also build the team, sharpen the process, and sit across the table from DNOs on the connections that don't fit the standard template.
- What you'll be doing
- Leading and developing a team of design engineers.
- Approving LV, HV and EHV network designs before they go out.
- Owning DNO connection applications and upstream network negotiations.
- Acting as technical authority on the difficult ones, and working directly with developers and customers.
- What you'll need
- Solid LV and HV network design experience from a DNO, IDNO or ICP background. EHV is a bonus, not a barrier.
- Win Debut, IPSA, Vis Net or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of 2D CAD and ENA/G81 design standards.
- Some experience mentoring or checking other engineers' work. You don't need to have run a team before — we'll back you to grow into it.
- Why this one
- A real band, not an "up to" figure. £70,000–£90,000 (plus bonus) depending on where you land.
- 2 days working from home. xgikmsk The design work happens wherever your laptop is.
- The company is growing fast and the design function is being built around whoever takes this role.
- Private medical, enhanced pension, life assurance, 26 days holiday
