We are seeking an experienced Product Associate to join Timeline’s first line of defence on a three month fixed‑term contract. This role has been created to support delivery of Timeline’s Consumer Duty activities, with a particular focus on fair value assessments. The role sits within the first line and works closely with the investment, distribution and risk and compliance teams. It requires a candidate with direct, hands‑on experience of Consumer Duty implementation in a DFM or MPS context, and the analytical rigour to translate regulatory requirements into well‑evidenced, documented assessments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fair Value Assessments
    • Conduct fair value assessments (FVAs) across MPS models and risk profiles, including bespoke
    • Conduct FVAs for the Multi Asset Funds range
    • Maintain Timeline FVA procedures
  • Target Market Analysis
    • Review and update target market analysis (TMA) across the MPS and Multi Asset Funds range, ensuring alignment with PROD rules and Consumer Duty requirements
    • Ensure TMA documentation is comprehensive and complete
  • Outcome Testing
    • Support outcome testing activities
    • Define methodologies, data sources and assessment criteria
    • Collate and analyse MI
    • Prepare outcome testing results for reporting to the Investment Committee
  • Consumer Duty MI and Board Reporting
    • Support the Consumer Duty Board reporting
    • Contribute to the development of Consumer Duty MI frameworks, including data sources, collection processes and assessment criteria
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with the investment team, sales and distribution functions and risk and compliance team to gather data, validate assumptions and ensure consistency across assessments

Role Requirements

Core knowledge & experience:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a product, investment, or compliance role within an FCA-regulated investment firm
  • Direct, hands‑on experience of Consumer Duty implementation, including conducting fair value assessments and target market analysis - essential
  • Strong working knowledge of PRIN 2A, PROD, and the FCA’s Consumer Duty guidance and related publications
  • Experience in a discretionary fund manager, MPS provider, or investment platform business - essential
  • Analytical and numerically confident, with the ability to interpret cost, performance, and value data and translate findings into well‑structured written assessments
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce board and committee-level documentation
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver to tight deadlines

Ideal knowledge & experience:

  • Experience working with distributor data and managing data gaps in the context of fair value and PROD assessments
  • Understanding of MiFID II product governance requirements and their interaction with Consumer Duty
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CISI, CFA, IMC) desirable but not essential
