Role & Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join our Risk and Compliance team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. This role has been created to support delivery of our risk management activities. The role sits within the second line of defence and reports directly to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. It requires someone who can operate at pace without sacrificing rigour.
- Risk Framework: Support delivery of risk management activities, firm-wide risk assessment registers, risk appetite statements, KRI reporting, reporting to the RCC and other governance forums, incident reporting process.
- Platform and Operational Risk: Third party risk and oversight.
- Governance and Reporting: Prepare risk-focused board and committee papers, including project updates, support the ICARA process.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the first line, including the SLT, to deliver risk processes across the business.
Role Requirements: Core Knowledge & Experience: 6+ years' experience in a risk management role within an FCA-regulated investment firm, demonstrable experience designing or embedding enterprise risk management frameworks, including risk registers, KRIs, and risk appetite statements, strong working knowledge of FCA rules including SYSC, PRIN, and prudential requirements (ICARA/MIFIDPRU), familiarity with Consumer Duty, SM&CR, and operational resilience frameworks, experience working across second-line functions with first-line business owners, excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare board-level documentation, proven ability to work independently and at pace within a structured programme environment, experience of MPS and/or platform businesses, familiarity with third-party oversight and associated risk frameworks.
Ideal Knowledge & Experience: Experience using GRC platforms or data tools to support risk reporting, professional qualifications (e.g., IRM, CISI) desirable but not essential.
