Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire
We are looking for friendly, caring individuals to volunteer within our social groups, which are spread across Hull and East Yorkshire. These groups aim to provide regular social inclusion to people aged 50+, promoting participation, reducing loneliness, encouraging conversation, and having fun!
Our groups are user-led, meaning participants help make decisions about what happens within their group. Activities may vary by group and may include bingo, raffles, quizzes and exercises
Tasks and responsibilities
- Helping to prepare the venue – setting up chairs, tables etc
- Ensuring refreshments are available and assisting group members with refreshments
- Welcoming members are they arrive
- Joining conversations with group members and encouraging participation
- Assisting staff with session activities
- Leading group sessions in the absence of staff due to annual leave or sickness
- Completing the register and collecting client payments when required
- Maintaining confidentiality and following Age UK HEY\’s policies
- Informing Age UK HEY of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your volunteering
