About Hull Women’s Aid

Hull Women’s Aid (HWA) has been supporting women and children escaping domestic abuse since 1975. We are the only provider of safe refuge accommodation on the north bank of the Humber, and we also deliver a wide range of community support, outreach, and awareness activities.

Role Summary

As an Events and Fundraising Volunteer, you will support Hull Women’s Aid at community events and fundraising activities. You’ll be a public-facing representative of our charity, helping to promote our services, raise awareness of domestic abuse, and generate much-needed income to sustain our work. This role is flexible, varied, and can be adapted to your skills and interests.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Helping to set up and pack away at events.
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of fundraising events.
  • Running stalls, tombolas or charity collections at a range of events and community venues.
  • Promoting fundraising activities on social media, in the local press and within the community.
  • Supporting with administration linked to events or donations (e.g. logging raffle prizes, recording Gift Aid declarations).
  • Engaging with Hull Women’s Aid donors.
  • Assisting in developing new fundraising ideas and activities.
  • Contacting local organisations to request raffle prizes and donations to support fundraising activities.
  • Championing Hull Women’s Aid's mission in the community.
