You know those conversations that are punctuated with references to AI? And then everyone nods, but no one really knows what to do next? That’s where you come in. This is a brand new Technology & Innovation unit in a large Consulting firm. We’re looking for engineers who can turn vague ambitions into something real. Not just a slide deck. Not just buzzwords. Actual solutions that work. Sitting at the intersection of technology, strategy and thought leadership, you’ll be the person who bridges the gap between industry SMEs (who spot the business cases) and the teams who build the stuff. You’ll be a hands-on software engineer / architect, who shapes AI solutions that make sense—technically and commercially—and show clients and internal teams what’s possible. You’ll also have unprecedented access to global alliances at the forefront of the AI frontier.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with client-facing Consulting teams and internal teams from early in the process to help prospects understand what AI can do for them.
- Designing and demonstrating prototypes that prove the value of a solution before building it.
- Acting as a trusted advisor—someone who can explain complex AI concepts to non-technical people without making them feel stupid.
What you’ll need:
- Deep experience shaping and engineering enterprise software solutions from the concept right through to delivery.
- Hands-on knowledge of AI model architecture—LLMs, SLMs, training, deployment.
- Practical experience with at least two hyperscale platforms and a lot of experience on AI foundation models (AWS Bedrock, Azure ML, Google Vertex, OpenAI).
- A solid grasp of data, machine learning, and the realities of cloud security and cost optimisation.
You’ll be an engineer at heart who still loves solving technical problems and developing software. But this isn’t a pure coding role. It’s about thought leadership (particularly on enterprise agentic AI strategies at scale), influence, credibility, and making things happen. If you like being the person who connects the dots and turns ideas into working solutions, you’ll enjoy this.
