Are you an experienced nurse leader with a passion for delivering exceptional mental health care? We're seeking a dynamic Ward Manager to oversee a 32-bed service in the Dewsbury area, split into two 16-bed wards supporting male patients with a range of complex mental health conditions.

This role requires an enthusiastic, compassionate professional ready to lead by example and drive high standards of care. You'll be at the heart of a multidisciplinary team delivering integrated and person-centred support across neuropsychiatry, older adult care, dementia, and rehabilitation services.

About the Service

  • Neuro-cognitive support for individuals presenting with neuropsychiatric symptoms
  • Rehabilitation care for males with complex comorbidities, significant risk histories, and behaviours that challenge
  • A community-focused approach, offering alternatives to acute psychiatric ward placements
  • The setting is well-suited to individuals stepping down from acute environments, experiencing placement breakdowns, or transitioning from other care settings including the justice system.

Key Responsibilities for the Ward Manager include:

  • Provide clinical leadership and hands-on management for the nursing team
  • Ensure consistently high standards of nursing care are delivered
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clinical and operational matters on the ward
  • Maintain oversight of ward environments and resource management
  • Mentor, support and inspire your team to perform at their best

What We're Looking For in the Ward Manager:

  • Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with active NMC registration
  • Previous experience at a senior level in mental health or neuropsychiatry services
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and care planning
