We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our workshop team in Bacup. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and repairing metal components and structures in accordance with engineering specifications and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) to manufacture items and components to a high standard
- Cut, shape, and prepare materials, ensuring correct dimensions and thicknesses
- Weld and join metal and other materials to create a wide range of structures
- Interpret and work from engineering plans, technical drawings, and instructions
- Use computer software and programmes to assist with the design of structures
- Operate welding equipment, tools, and machinery safely and effectively
- Inspect and test completed welds using precision measuring instruments
- Dismantle and reassemble metal structures as required
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including cleaning tools and equipment
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Carry out all duties within a workshop environment
Health & Safety and Compliance
- Adhere fully to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Report any issues or concerns that may affect operations to Management in a timely manner
Additional Duties
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as requested by Management, particularly during busy periods
- Provide operational support to ensure customer requirements are met at short notice when necessary
