About the Role

/n

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Plumber to join our Facilities and Maintenance team, supporting both Newcastle Racecourse and Sedgefield Racecourse. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing maintenance, repairs, and installation work across our racecourse facilities, ensuring that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n
- Carry out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across both racecourse sites.
/n
- Diagnose and repair faults within water, drainage, heating, and sanitation systems.
/n
- Install, maintain, and replace plumbing fixtures, fittings, and pipework.
/n
- Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and minimise operational disruption.
/n
- Conduct routine inspections of plant rooms, water systems, and associated equipment.
/n
- Assist with preventative maintenance programmes.
/n
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation and industry standards.
/n
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
/n
- Liaise professionally with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
/n
- Support wider maintenance activities when required.
/n

Skills & Experience Required

/n

Essential

/n

/n
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Plumbing.
/n
- Proven experience in commercial and/or domestic plumbing maintenance.
/n
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
/n
- Knowledge of current plumbing regulations and health and safety requirements.
/n
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
/n
- Full UK driving licence.
/n
- Good communication and customer service skills.
/n

Essential

/n
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing.
/n
- CSCS Card
/n
- Experience within large commercial, hospitality, leisure, or public venues.
/n
- Knowledge of heating systems and plant equipment.
/n
- Water Regulations or Legionella awareness training.
/n
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience.
/n
