Our client, a growing Main Contractor based in Stockport, is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the continued expansion of the business. The company specialises in healthcare fit-out, new build, and modular construction projects across the UK, delivering high-quality environments within the healthcare sector. Due to an increasing workload and ongoing growth, they are now looking for a capable and commercially aware QS who can work independently and confidently manage projects from a commercial perspective.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor with a strong pipeline of work and long-term progression opportunities. The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the commercial management of healthcare construction projects, supporting projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Initially, the main project focus will be based in Lincoln, with travel required approximately once per month. Additional projects are located in Bolton and across the South of England.

  • Managing project costs from inception to completion
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Subcontractor procurement and account management
  • Cost reporting and commercial forecasting
  • Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
  • Ensuring projects remain commercially compliant and profitable
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

The client is open regarding sector background and is more focused on securing someone with solid Quantity Surveying foundations and the ability to operate independently.

  • Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying role
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding
  • Full UK driving licence preferred due to occasional travel requirements
  • Candidates from a variety of construction backgrounds will be considered, provided they can demonstrate strong core QS capabilities.
