Role Overview
This is a strategic, client-facing role focused on winning new business rather than traditional estimating. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and securing projects and tenders. This role would suit an experienced Pre-Construction Manager or Business Development professional with strong industry contacts and a proven ability to generate revenue.
- Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with end users, main contractors, and key stakeholders
- Lead on tender opportunities, from initial enquiry through to submission (with internal support as required)
- Leverage existing industry contacts to generate immediate opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, operations, and manufacturing) to ensure competitive and deliverable proposals
- Represent the business at meetings, networking events, and client presentations
- Contribute to overall business growth strategy and market positioning
- Key Requirements
- Proven track record in winning work within construction, joinery, or specialist subcontracting
- Strong network of contacts within main contractors and/or end clients
- Experience in a Pre-Construction, Business Development, or similar role
- Commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the sales pipeline
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of fire doors, joinery, or roofing systems is advantageous but not essential
