Overview
Our client is looking to appoint a motivated and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor at Project QS to Senior QS level to join their growing team based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of new build, extension, refurbishment, and fit-out projects throughout Yorkshire and the East Midlands. The successful candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of managing projects independently while demonstrating strong commercial awareness and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects through to final account
- Preparing cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Subcontract procurement and management
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
- Supporting project delivery to ensure commercial targets are achieved
- Conducting regular site visits (typically once per week)
Project Portfolio
The role will involve working across a range of projects including:
- New build and extension schemes up to approximately 5M
- Fit-out and refurbishment projects up to approximately 2M
Current freelance/live requirements include:
- Office fit-out project in the East Midlands
- School refurbishment project in West Yorkshire
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Background across both new build and refurbishment projects is essential
- Fit-out experience would be advantageous
- Commercially aware with strong organisational skills
- Driven individual who shows initiative and application
- Ability to manage workloads independently and communicate effectively with project teams and clients
Working Arrangement
- Office based in Leeds
- Site travel required approximately once per week
- No home working / fully office-based role
Package
- 50,000 – 60,000 salary depending on experience
- Permanent opportunity with long-term progression potential
- Freelance candidates will also be considered depending on experience and availability
