Location: Pemberton, Wigan, WN5 8BH

Salary: £21.50 per hour (paid handover, unpaid break)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm (40 hours per week)

Additional: Shared on‑call rota

About the Service

The home is a specialist mental health nursing service with an experienced clinical team skilled in supporting adults with complex and enduring mental health needs. The home can accommodate up to 45 residents and currently supports 14 individuals with diagnoses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, and behaviours that challenge.

Key Responsibilities for the Clinical Lead role

  • Lead on risk management and mental health assessments.
  • Develop and review CPI and support plans.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and complete regular audits.
  • Deliver supervisions and appraisals to support staff development.
  • Support training and ongoing professional development across the team.
  • Act as the senior lead in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Liaise with pharmacy, GPs, and external professionals.
  • Lead staff meetings and ensure effective handovers.
  • Maintain positive communication with families and carers.
  • Raise and manage safeguarding concerns (approx. 4–5 per day).
  • Complete capacity assessments and ensure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and workforce planning.
  • Manage challenging behaviours and lead on de‑escalation strategies.
