Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit Commercial team based in their Oldham office. The Role
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of the commercial management of a high-volume portfolio of Fire & Security installation projects, ensuring profitability is protected and maximised throughout the project lifecycle. The position has minimal pre-construction involvement, as estimating responsibilities are managed by the Project Management team. Instead, the focus is on post-award commercial management, contract administration, cost control, and final account settlement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing contract terms and identifying commercial risks and obligations.
- Managing the commercial set-up of projects following contract award.
- Placing and managing subcontractor and supplier orders.
- Monitoring project costs, profitability and cash flow.
- Managing variations and ensuring prompt recovery of additional works.
- Producing monthly commercial reports and forecasts.
- Supporting debt recovery and reducing work-in-progress exposure.
- Completing and agreeing final accounts.
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise commercial performance.
- Ensuring robust commercial governance and compliance across all projects.
About the Team
You will join a close-knit commercial function within a wider team of approximately 30 employees, ranging from Administration through to Directors. Due to the volume of projects delivered, candidates should be comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment.
- Strong contract administration and commercial management experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects within a high-volume workload.

- Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and risk management.
- Experience producing final accounts and managing project financial performance.
