A successful and expanding insurance brokerage in the North West is looking for an experienced Commercial Insurance Broker to join its team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of new business generation, client servicing, and technical broking work, with the chance to manage a varied portfolio of commercial clients. You’ll play a key role in advising clients, arranging suitable cover, and supporting them throughout the full policy lifecycle — from initial enquiry to renewal and claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop New Business — Identify opportunities, win new clients, and contribute to the growth of the commercial book.
  • Manage Client Relationships — Build trust, provide ongoing support, and maintain long‑term partnerships.
  • Assess Insurance Needs — Understand client exposures and recommend appropriate cover.
  • Handle Quotations — Source competitive terms from insurers and present clear options to clients.
  • Negotiate Terms — Secure favourable premiums and coverage.
  • Oversee Renewals & MTAs — Manage renewals, adjustments, and day‑to‑day client enquiries.
  • Support Claims — Assist clients through the claims process and liaise with insurers and loss adjusters.
  • Ensure Compliance — Work in line with FCA requirements and internal procedures.
  • Maintain Accurate Records — Keep client and policy information up to date.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in commercial broking or commercial account handling.
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products (property, liability, fleet, combined, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
  • Confident negotiator with insurers and clients.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
