Freezer Stock Controller

Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and organised Freezer Stock Controller to join our food production client based in Gorton, Manchester.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels within the freezer area, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are stored and handled correctly in line with food safety standards. This role involves working in a freezer environment at sub-zero temperatures, so candidates must be comfortable working in cold conditions and wearing appropriate thermal PPE.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels within the freezer.
- Receive, check and record incoming stock deliveries.
- Pick and prepare stock for daily production requirements.
- Ensure stock is stored in the correct locations and labelled appropriately.
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Carry out regular stock checks and report any discrepancies.
- Check product quality, packaging and expiry dates.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure stock is available when required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in stock control, warehousing or a similar role is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a freezer environment at sub-zero temperatures.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
Working Conditions
- Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
- Location: Gorton, Manchester.
- Working in a freezer environment at sub-zero temperatures.
- Appropriate thermal PPE and protective clothing must be worn.
- Duties may involve manual handling, standing for extended periods and moving stock.
