The Company
Our client is an established main contractor based in Leeds, specialising in fit-out and refurbishment projects across the commercial, industrial, and retail sectors. They have built a strong reputation through a mix of competitive tendering and repeat business, with a stable team where employees typically stay 5+ years. Projects range from £30K to £3M, with a strong pipeline of work in the £500K range.
The Role
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an Estimator, with consideration given to both Assistant and Senior-level candidates. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of fit-out and refurbishment projects, working closely with the commercial and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Support bid strategy and contribute to winning new work
- Ensure all submissions are completed accurately and on time
Requirements
- Experience in estimating within construction (fit-out/refurbishment preferred)
- Open to Assistant through to Senior-level candidates
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Good communication and organisational skills
