Site Manager (Contract) Location: Horwich, Bolton Rate: £220 per day Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (45 hours per week) Start Date: Monday 19th October Duration: Approximately 2 Months (Until Friday 18th December) Sector: Construction & Property | Education Refurbishment Site Manager - Education Refurbishment Project We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a live education refurbishment project based in Horwich, Bolton. Working on behalf of a reputable contractor, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of refurbishment works within an occupied educational environment, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. The scheme includes: Cubicle installations and refurbishment Door replacements Flooring works Ceiling refurbishments Structural alterations Management of subcontractors across multiple workstreams Working within a live school environment Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating site activities, maintaining health and safety compliance, and ensuring disruption to the client is kept to a minimum. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day management of site operations Supervising subcontractors and direct labour Ensuring adherence to project programme and deadlines Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks and inspections Managing works within a live educational environment Coordinating with client representatives and project stakeholders Producing site reports and progress updates Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with project specifications Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will have: Previous experience as a Site Manager or Assistant/No.2 Site Manager Experience delivering refurbishment projects within education, healthcare, or similar live environments Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on occupied sites Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously A proactive approach to problem-solving and programme management Essential Qualifications & Certifications SMSTS Black CSCS Card Asbestos Awareness Fire Marshal Training First Aid at Work Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential and must be current) Ideal Background Candidates with experience delivering projects within the following sectors will be particularly welcomed: Education refurbishments School and college projects Healthcare and hospital refurbishments Live environment construction projects What We're Looking For Enhanced DBS completed within the last three years Proven track record of working on education or healthcare schemes Experience working in live environments where safeguarding and operational continuity are critical Reliable and professional approach with strong site leadership skills Ability to integrate into an established project team and hit the ground running What's on Offer? £220 per day Immediate start on a well-run refurbishment project Stable contract through to December Opportunity to work with an established contractor on future schemes Potential for further project opportunities upon successful completion If you're an experienced Site Manager with a valid Enhanced DBS and a background in education or healthcare refurbishment projects, we'd like to hear from you.
