Location: Solihull, Birmingham
We are currently seeking an experienced Painter to join our team on projects based in the Solihull / Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in applying fire-retardant paint and working in commercial or industrial environments. This role requires strong attention to detail, safe working practices, and the ability to work efficiently at height and in compliance with site safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply fire-retardant coatings to surfaces in accordance with manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Prepare surfaces, including sanding, cleaning, priming, and masking as required.
- Carry out general painting duties on internal and external surfaces.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and compliant with all health & safety procedures.
- Operate equipment such as towers, ladders, and access platforms safely and responsibly.
- Work both independently and as part of a site team to meet project deadlines.
Essential Requirements
- Experience applying fire-retardant paint.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Face Fit (tight-fitting RPE) certification.
- Manual Handling training.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
Desirable Skills & Attributes
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions clearly.
- Ability to deliver high-quality finishes consistently.
