About the Role
Time Recruitment is proud to present a superb opportunity for an experienced Litigated Credit Hire File Handler to join a fast-paced and highly regarded legal team. In this role, you'll be managing complex and high-value credit hire claims, with a focus on files up to Β£25,000. It's an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build on their litigation expertise while playing a key role in defending claims and reducing costs for insurer clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of litigated Delegated Authority credit hire and injury files, working under the guidance of a supportive Team Leader
- Assess and manage files throughout their life cycle, ensuring compliance with both internal process and client expectations
- Develop case strategies and carry out relevant legal research
- Negotiate effectively over the phone with third-party solicitors
- Liaise with insurers and policyholders as required
- Ensure all actions are documented accurately on the Case Management System
- Complete MI (management information) records and billing tasks precisely
- Operate within ISO 9001 quality standards and adhere to SRA rules and regulations
- Meet individual performance targets while upholding company values
Court File Work Includes:
- Drafting defences and direction questionnaires
- Managing disclosure and exchange of evidence
- Preparing pre-trial checklists
- Drafting CPR Part 18 and Part 35 questions
- Instructing Counsel where necessary
- Preparing counter schedules
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm (1 hour for lunch)
Hybrid working - 1 day in the office, 4 days from home
35 hours per week
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience handling litigated Credit Hire claims
- Strong working knowledge of the litigation process
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - a degree or LPC is advantageous
- Ability to prioritise workloads, use initiative, and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal communication and telephone negotiation skills
- Ability to make informed decisions and remain calm under pressure
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ideally, a Case Management System
Desirable:
- Experience working on Personal Injury cases
