Company Overview: We are a well-established main contractor specialising in high-end retail fit-out projects, delivering schemes through repeat business, competitive tenders and established framework agreements. With a growing pipeline of work, including expansion into the public sector, we are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial operations from our Warrington office.
Role Overview: As the Managing QS, you will take full ownership of the commercial function, managing a team of three experienced Quantity Surveyors. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial management across multiple projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial delivery across multiple high-spec retail and public sector fit-out projects
- Oversee tendering, cost planning, contract negotiation, and final accounts
- Manage and mentor a team of 3 Quantity Surveyors
- Develop and implement commercial strategies in line with company goals
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain, and internal teams
- Identify and manage commercial risk and opportunity
- Contribute to the company's diversification into the public sector
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within main contracting
- Strong background in fit-out (retail or commercial), with public sector experience advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Leadership ability with strong commercial acumen
