Job Overview
We are currently seeking experienced Electricians to work on a project at HMP Ranby. This role will involve carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, upgrades, and testing works within a secure prison environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical work while adhering to strict health and safety procedures and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Testing, inspection, and fault-finding of electrical installations.
- Installation of containment systems, wiring, lighting, and associated electrical components.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring all work is completed to current industry regulations and standards.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed.
- Working safely and professionally within a secure prison environment.
- Liaising with site management and other trades as required.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- ECS/JIB Gold Card or equivalent.
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Own tools and PPE.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within prisons, secure facilities, or government sites.
- TEL1 clearance.
- Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent).
- Security clearance or ability to pass prison vetting procedures.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
