About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a series of refurbishment and fit-out works across a Metropolitan Police site in Romford.
The works will include painting and decorating, lighting installations, general fit-out and refurbishment, with responsibility for managing the day-to-day site operations, subcontractors and trades.
This is a client-facing role requiring a professional, presentable and organised Site Manager who can work independently and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Metropolitan Police security clearance is essential for this position. Candidates must hold valid SC, CTC or PBS clearance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Day-to-day site management: Take full responsibility for the daily running of the site, coordinating subcontractors, trades, materials and site activities to ensure works progress efficiently and in line with the programme.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a strong health and safety culture on site, ensuring RAMS, inductions, toolbox talks, inspections and statutory requirements are fully implemented and adhered to. Strong H&S experience is essential.
- Programme & Progress: Monitor and drive the construction programme, coordinating trades and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered on time. Identify potential delays and implement solutions proactively.
- Quality & Documentation: Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards, maintaining accurate site records, reports, permits, inspections and project documentation. Procore experience would be highly advantageous.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as a professional and confident point of contact for the client and other project stakeholders, providing progress updates, resolving issues and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project.
Essential Requirements
- Strong Site Management experience, ideally within fit-out, refurbishment or similar environments
- Previous experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
- Strong knowledge and proven experience of Health & Safety and programme management
- Metropolitan Police security clearance - SC, CTC or PBS - essential
- SMSTS - Essential
- Relevant CSCS Site Manager/Supervisor card - Essential
- Professional, presentable and confident when dealing directly with clients
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage site activities independently
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage site documentation, quality and programme delivery
- Candidates with a trade background and strong Site Management experience will be considered

Project Environment
The project involves face-lift and refurbishment works at a Metropolitan Police site, including painting and decorating, lighting and general fit-out works.
The successful Site Manager will need to be comfortable working within a secure environment, managing multiple trades and ensuring that all works are completed safely, professionally and with minimal disruption to the client's operations.
