Are you currently managing major retail accounts within the construction, shopfitting or fit out sector and looking for the opportunity to take full ownership of a significant portfolio?
A well-established national contractor is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to support the continued growth of several long-standing retail accounts. This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to manage a substantial account portfolio, oversee nationwide project delivery and play a key role in the strategic development of client relationships.
The business delivers refurbishment, fit out, rollout and maintenance programmes for some of the UK's most recognised retail brands across a range of formats, from concession and small-format works through to large-scale store developments.
The Opportunity
You'll take responsibility for the successful delivery, growth and commercial performance of a key client portfolio, managing multiple projects simultaneously across a national framework environment.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional client relationships, driving profitability, managing operational teams and identifying opportunities for continued account growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop major retail client accounts across the UK.
- Take ownership of turnover, profitability and commercial performance.
- Lead client relationship management and become the primary point of contact for key stakeholders.
- Oversee nationwide rollout, refurbishment and fit out programmes.
- Manage and support Project Managers, Site Managers and delivery teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.
- Work closely with commercial teams to manage forecasts, budgets and financial performance.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across accounts.
- Support business development activities and identify opportunities for account expansion.
- Report on performance, pipeline activity and strategic growth plans.
About You
We are interested in speaking with individuals who have:
- Proven experience within retail construction, shopfitting or fit out.
- Experience managing major client accounts within a framework or rollout environment.
- A track record of overseeing multiple projects and operational teams simultaneously.
- Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for turnover, margin and profit performance.
- Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.
- Experience leading Project Managers, Site Managers and Working Foremen.
- A background that has progressed through Project Management, Contracts Management, Operations or Account Management positions.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational level.
