Time for Teeth are looking for a qualified dental nurse to join our London & South Central team to work as a peripatetic/floating dental nurse across various prisons and secure establishments in Surrey. You will be based within the prison service assisting the dentists and dental therapists in providing a full range of NHS care and treatment to patients.
Salary: Competitive hourly rate
Days/Hours: 37.5 hours per week 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday or 30 hours per week 8:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday.
Based: HMP Send, HMP Coldingley, HMP High Down, HMP Bronzefield, HMP Downview
This is an exciting post that will allow the candidate to work across a number of different sites and will be an ideal development and progression opportunity. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated individual. You must have the ability to work closely with other members of staff as well as being able to work off your own initiative. A caring attitude, good communication and work ethic are all essential.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Keep the clinical areas and equipment clean, tidy and sterile.
- Ensuring CQC requirements are met and complied with.
- Providing clinical chairside support to the dentist.
- Maintaining stock levels of consumables within clinic.
- Setting up and decontamination of instruments.
- Maintaining and updating patient records.
- Completing monthly company performance reports.
- Ensure the care and welfare of patients.
- Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules including PPE, COSHH, Infection control and waste disposal.
- Attend and complete training in line with the GDC registration requirements.
- Completing laboratory requests forms.
- Other duties as required for the efficient operation of the service.
What will we need from you?
- Be fully qualified with 2 years or more experience.
- Hold dental Indemnity Insurance upon appointment.
- Be able to pass a DBS enhanced check and clear prison vetting procedures.
