Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead and develop their Purchasing function. The Purchasing Manager will take overall responsibility for the effective management and development of the Purchasing function, ensuring the business has the right products, at the right time, quality and cost. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial performance, developing supplier relationships and continuously improving purchasing processes. Skills & Experience Required: * Extensive experience gained within a Purchasing, Procurement or Buying environment, ideally with responsibility for a team or purchasing function * Previous experience in a similar Purchasing/Procurement Manager role, with a good understanding of logistics and transport coordination, together with knowledge of import procedures and associated requirements * Proven management and leadership experience, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a high-performing team * Strong commercial awareness, with proven experience of supplier negotiation and managing commercial relationships * Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining effective supplier relationships * Strong understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes and procedures * Proven ability to analyse purchasing data, KPIs and commercial information and use this to drive improvements * Experience of identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving purchasing efficiencies * Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and senior management * High level of accuracy and attention to detail * Strong negotiation and influencing skills * Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages * A proactive “can-do” attitude, with the ability to take ownership and drive positive change Core Benefits (Subject to Eligibility): * Annual and quarterly company performance bonus * Life Assurance — 7x Basic Salary * Hybrid working *after probation * Income Protection Insurance — automatic inclusion following completion of 6 months' service * Private Healthcare following successful completion of probationary period * Competitive company pension scheme with a long-service enhancement * 20 days annual leave, rising to 25 days after completion of 1 years’ service, plus statutory bank holidays and discretionary paid leave during Christmas shut-down, equating to an additional 3–5 days leave * Career progression and development opportunities * Wellness programme * Company events
