Time Appointments are delighted to be supporting a leading national contractor in their search for a Head of SHEQ. This is a senior leadership role with real scope to make an impact, shaping the future of safety, health, environment, and quality across a fast-growing business. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will give you the platform to set the strategic direction for the SHEQ function while working closely with the wider leadership team. You’ll be hands-on in driving improvements, embedding best practice, and ensuring compliance – but equally focused on developing people, influencing culture, and creating a safer, smarter way of working across the organisation. What You’ll Be Doing * Leading, mentoring, and inspiring the SHEQ team to deliver excellence. * Reviewing and improving policies, procedures, and systems in line with ISO standards. * Promoting a proactive approach to safety and wellbeing, making SHEQ part of everyday business. * Overseeing audits, inspections, and incident investigations, always seeking learning opportunities. * Rolling out clear, engaging SHEQ communications, from toolbox talks to leadership briefings. * Supporting managers and teams with practical advice, coaching, and guidance. * Keeping up to date with legislation and industry standards, ensuring compliance at all times. * Regularly reviewing performance and identifying ways to continually raise the bar. About You We’re looking for someone who’s not only technically strong but also approachable, collaborative, and confident in influencing at all levels. You’ll ideally bring: * NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent). * 10–15 years’ experience, with a solid background in SHEQ leadership. * A proven ability to lead change and drive cultural improvements. * Strong communication skills and a natural ability to bring people with you. * A genuine passion for raising standards and making a difference.
