Our client, a highly respected and growing shipping and logistics company based in Felixstowe, is seeking an experienced Traffic Planner to join their expanding operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport planning experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving logistical challenges.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Planning and routing vehicles efficiently while responding proactively to delays and operational changes
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with hauliers and drivers
  • Managing daily workloads using in-house transport planning systems
  • Ensuring internal tracking and transport management systems are updated accurately and promptly
  • Monitoring delivery performance, ensuring customer deadlines and service levels are consistently achieved
  • Liaising with customers to resolve delivery queries and provide timely updates
  • Supporting colleagues with route and load planning, reviewing and improving planning effectiveness where appropriate
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of route planning best practices and remain compliant with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive (WTD), and Road Transport Directive (RTD) legislation

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a transport planning or traffic planning role
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy environment
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
