Overview
Due to high demand, we are recruiting for a fantastic company in the shipping and logistics industry in an accessible area of Ipswich.
The role is for a European Import Operative, the role includes fantastic benefits, a great working environment and the opportunity for a great career.
Responsibilities
- Dealing directly with Clients on operational needs & liaising with suppliers to deliver on appropriate services
- Customs entries & documentation for all movements to a high accuracy level and standard
- Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers
- Data capture and record keeping
- Supporting customers with general transportation advice
- Internal auditing checks to maintain high level customs compliance
- Proactive approach to problem solving and opportunities
- Working with HMRC and other customs authorities
- Ensuring customers/partners are receiving first class customer service
Qualifications
- European operational experience
- Knowledge in required customs documentation, certificates, or licences and general Customs Compliance
- Knowledge of Tariffs
- Handling of customs for freight movements involving EU/EFTA countries and understanding of proposed new procedures since Brexit
- Understanding of ISO/AEO Procedures
- Understanding of Inco Terms
- Additional declarations for specific destinations and origins
- High Level of Customer service skills
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills
