Time Appointments are proud to be working on behalf of a well-established Construction Company based in Essex, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Commercial team, supporting site and contracts teams to ensure the profitable and efficient delivery of projects.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Demonstrable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a subcontractor environment
- Sound technical knowledge of brickwork, masonry, or closely related trades (preferred)
- Strong understanding of UK construction contracts
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation capabilities, with an eye for detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Packages, and construction accounts management software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate tender and contract documents, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
- Ensuring on-going compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives
- On-site measurement and measurement of drawings
- Perform risk, value management and cost control
- On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
- Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks
- Accurate preparation and agreement of variation accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts
- Preparing and issuing certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
