Transport Planner in Saffron Walden

Due to their continued success and growth, our client is currently looking for a Transport Planner to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an ever-growing business.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will help coordinate transport activities, keep deliveries on track and ensure resources are used efficiently. You'll liaise with drivers, customers and suppliers, adapting plans when priorities change and helping to deliver a reliable, professional service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Planning and coordinating delivery schedules to support efficient transport operations
• Organising collections and deliveries, liaising with drivers, customers and suppliers
• Monitoring progress and responding promptly to delays or changes
• Maintaining accurate transport records and updating planning systems
• Using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, alongside relevant IT systems
• Building effective working relationships with colleagues and external contacts
• Supporting the wider team to maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in a transport planning role
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and confidence using role related systems
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands
• A practical, flexible approach to resolving problems and managing changing workloads
