Our client, a well-established and rapidly expanding transport company within the logistics sector, is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Traffic Operator to join their team at either London Gateway or Felixstowe. The successful candidate will be an experienced transport professional with a strong background in HGV routing and planning, looking to take on a senior position within a busy and fast-paced operation. If you have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in HGV routing/planning within logistics and are ready for your next career move, we would be keen to hear from you.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in HGV transport planning/routing
- Experience within container haulage, port logistics, freight or similar environments would be highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of transport operations and logistics
- Excellent geographical knowledge
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive approach and the confidence to make decisions quickly
- Good attention to detail
- Previous experience in a senior traffic/transport planning role would be advantageous
As Senior Traffic Operator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day planning and coordination of HGV movements, ensuring vehicles and drivers are utilised efficiently, and customer requirements are met. You will be responsible for managing the daily traffic operation, responding to changes and operational challenges, and ensuring work is planned and executed as efficiently as possible.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Due to the nature of the operation, there may be an occasional requirement to work weekends depending on workload and operational requirements.
