Due to continued growth, our client is looking to welcome an experienced

Import & Export Operations Co-ordinator to their expanding Sea Freight team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating sea freight import and export shipments from origin through to final delivery , ensuring vehicles are moved efficiently and customers receive an exceptional level of service throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end sea freight shipments, including

FCL & LCL , from origin through to final delivery.

  • Coordinate the international, UK and European movement of cars, bikes and other vehicles , ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Liaise with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and suppliers to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles and cargo.
  • Create, manage and monitor shipments using the company's in-house systems, ensuring all KPIs and service standards are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate shipment data, providing customers with timely updates and full visibility throughout the shipping process.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation, customs clearance requirements and compliance processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and plan collections and deliveries in line with customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify, resolve and escalate shipment or delivery issues to minimise disruption.
  • Prepare and process customer invoicing accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing a professional and responsive service throughout the shipment journey.
  • Work collaboratively with import, export, customs and operational teams to ensure seamless end-to-end vehicle movements.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 2 years' sea freight import experience within a freight forwarding environment is essential.

  • Experience coordinating international, UK and European logistics operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience handling the movement of cars, bikes, vehicles or other specialist cargo would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of international freight forwarding processes, with knowledge of both import and export operations.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and tariff classifications would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a genuine customer-focused approach.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads, multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confidence managing unexpected operational challenges.
