We are proud to be working on behalf of a well-known global shipping company based in Felixstowe for an Export Bookings Coordinator.
This role will suit a self-motivated, team player who is flexible to adapting to the company business needs, with responsibility of processing export cargo collections and booking orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and coordinate customer export bookings.
- Arrange container collections, releases and inland transport.
- Coordinate European cargo bookings for UK customers.
- Obtain approvals for hazardous cargo shipments.
- Update, amend, cancel and roll bookings as required.
- Maintain accurate freight rates in line with contracts and tariffs.
- Advise customers of additional charges and ensure correct invoicing.
- Keep customers informed of booking and service updates.
- Track and report booking compliance issues.
- Work with overseas offices to resolve customer queries and issues.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and report customer trends.
- Prepare daily booking reports and forecasts.
- Manage container detention and demurrage, including invoices and waiver requests.
- Carry out daily GVM checks and follow up with customers.
Previous Skills & Experience
- Previous experience managing multiple shipments/bookings and making sure deadlines are met.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer skills – especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Experience with logistics/ERP systems is useful.
