Candidate Profile
We are looking for a passionate individual to join our design team, open to learning a range of complex industry-specific software and training to timber frame codes of practice. Attention to detail and accuracy are key requirements for a successful designer, paired with the ability to learn quickly and effectively organise a variety of tasks relating to multiple projects at a time. The familiarity of technical design detailing and visualisation in both 2D and 3D are ideal core skills necessary to produce comprehensive timber frame drawings. Our team is friendly and committed to creating a dynamic environment perfect for an enthusiastic candidate who is excited by a constant opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of construction design and industry operations.
Job role
- To develop the skills required to design off-site manufactured timber frame buildings. This involves producing three-dimensional computer models of the structural timber frame from architect’s and engineer’s designs to create drawings for manufacture and site construction.
- Assist the design office with scheduling materials, producing construction drawing packages and liaising with the company’s production team.
- Communicating with architects, engineers, other designers, site operatives and clients during the process of timber frame design through to construction.
- Learning industry specific computer programs to engineer and design floor joists and roof trusses.
- Assisting with varied other office tasks within this rapidly developing company.
