Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher
Te reo Māori
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher of te reo Māori to join our supportive, collegial staff in Term 1, 2027. With growing numbers of ākonga interested in learning te reo and tikanga, we want our students to experience an inclusive, engaging, and culturally relevant curriculum.
This position would suit an experienced teacher capable of teaching te reo Māori from Year 9 to Year 13. However, we are equally prepared to support and develop a teacher who is on their own language journey. We welcome applications from teachers with a range of experiences, including new graduates and primary-trained teachers. We offer an extensive support programme for Provisionally Certificated Teachers (PCTs). Please state any supporting subjects in your application.
Timaru Boys’ High School is a friendly, supportive place to work. Our teachers actively contribute to our vibrant extra-curricular programme and foster a strong, values-based education for boys.
Timaru offers an affordable lifestyle and excellent recreational facilities, with easy access to mountains, lakes, the Mackenzie District, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
