We’re building the next century of shopping—making it feel human, communal, and alive again. E-commerce has spent decades optimizing for clicks, stripping away the trust, joy, and connection that once made shopping meaningful. Today, we are the UK's biggest live shopping platform, and we’ve got our sights set on the world. We raised an $18m Series A, which we’re using to rapidly grow and hire A-players to join our mission.
Your Mission
Data is fundamental to Tilt's success. You will build the foundational analytical systems that drive our products and strategic decisions. This starts with joining as our second Data Scientist to form a centralized data team which partners with cross-functional teams across Product, Ops, and Growth. In the short term, your work will span the full business. As we grow, this will change, and you will dedicate your time to specific business domains. You must be a generalist data scientist comfortable with getting your hands dirty, finding insights, and solving business problems.
What You’ll Do
- 0–3 Months
- Ship business-critical analyses on usage, retention and activation. Spot key signals to shape product direction.
- Get curious, dive deep into our data to improve our foundational metrics.
- Audit & improve data infrastructure, document data sources and build pipelines.
- Own core company dashboards and refine them to make insights accessible to the full team.
- Create a shared vocabulary across products and operations (e.g., “active user,” “successful transaction,” etc.).
- Scale our analytics culture through education, process, and documentation. You’ll turn yourself into a multiplier.
- Work closely with product and ops on growth experiments, operational bottlenecks, and behavioural insights.
- Own continuous improvements to data quality, modelling, and warehouse efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with leadership on strategic questions—customer segmentation, pricing experiments, expansion bets.
Requirements
You must be an ambitious, curious, relentless and no ego problem-solver excited to build the future of shopping. Additionally:
- Previous experience in a high-growth start-up or scale-up.
- 3+ years in data science or analytics roles.
- Ability to work independently and drive 0→1 analytics initiatives.
- Fluency with SQL and Python.
- Generalist, happy to own both data pipelines and business insights—you care about clean joins and smart questions.
- Excellent communicator—whether with dashboards, written summaries, or Loom videos.
- Strong product and business intuition—you know what matters and what doesn’t.
- Nice to have: experience with dbt, dagster, Metabase, or Snowflake.
Our Tech Stack
We work with a modern, scalable data stack: Data & Infrastructure: Snowflake, S3, OpenSearch, AWS Lambda & Batch, Dagster, dbt. Analytics & Experimentation: Amplitude, Appsflyer, Metabase. Orchestration & Modeling: Dagster for pipelines, dbt for transformations, and a strong experimentation layer across tools.
You’ll help shape insights and build models in a fast-moving, data-rich environment.

- Opportunity to work from abroad for up to 30 consecutive days a year.
