Application Support Manager / Systems Lead – Greater Manchester – Hybrid Are you an experienced IT professional ready to lead the charge in transforming systems delivery and support within a collaborative, people-driven business? About the Role We’re looking for a passionate Application Support Manager / Systems Lead to take ownership of our client’s diverse business applications portfolio. You’ll lead a high-performing team of Application Support & Development professionals while working closely with project teams, business stakeholders, and key suppliers to deliver real impact across the organisation. This role is all about leading with confidence, fostering strong relationships both internally and externally, and being the go-to expert for system improvements, delivery and support. What You’ll Be Doing Oversee all application and systems support, development, testing, and delivery Lead and mentor the Application Support & Development Team Build trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, negotiating SLAs and managing product roadmaps Drive continuous improvement across systems and user experience through agile, structured change processes Support large-scale projects and system transformations with hands-on expertise and strategic input Take ownership of system licensing, budgeting, and supplier performance Act as Lead Communicator —owning the messaging around critical issues, system downtime, and changes to ensure clarity and confidence across the business What You’ll Bring A natural leader with the ability to inspire, influence and guide teams Proven experience managing system portfolios and supplier relationships Knowledge in application support, system delivery, and small change management A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills Strong understanding of IT operations, databases, testing, and systems integration Excellent communication skills – you’ll be just as comfortable speaking with end users as you are with Directors or suppliers Relevant professional certifications (ITIL, Prince2, Microsoft, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus Why Join?
