Be part of a major business transformation We're recruiting for an experienced Business Analyst to join a Technology & Change team delivering a large-scale, multi-year transformation programme.
This role will sit within the reporting and data workstream, supporting the review and transformation of existing reporting processes and defining future-state reporting requirements across new and existing systems.
You'll work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, QA and delivery teams across the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and process mapping through to testing, cutover and implementation.
The Role As a Business Analyst, you'll be responsible for understanding business and reporting requirements, reviewing existing processes and reports, and helping define how these will work within the new technology landscape.
A key part of the role will be reviewing current reports and processes to determine whether they are still required, can be simplified or consolidated, or whether their functionality will be covered by the new solution.
You'll document future-state reporting requirements and wireframes across systems supporting Finance, Operations and Purchasing, working with technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
The role will involve working across Agile, DevOps and Waterfall environments and supporting projects through requirements, design, testing, cutover and post-go-live.
What You'll Be Doing Gather and document business, functional and reporting requirements
Facilitate stakeholder workshops and work with business users to understand their needs
Review existing reports and processes and define future-state reporting requirements
Assess whether existing reports and processes are still required or will be covered by the new solution
Document reporting requirements, wireframes, process maps and system interactions
Work across Finance, Operations and Purchasing systems
Map current and future-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Support data analysis, mapping, validation and reconciliation
Support data migration and understand the impact on reporting
Work with Solution Architects, developers and QA teams to shape and deliver solutions
Define acceptance criteria, test scenarios and UAT scripts
Coordinate and support UAT with business users
Support cutover, deployment and post-go-live activities
Manage stakeholders and ensure requirements and decisions are clearly documented
About You You'll be an experienced Business Analyst with strong reporting, data and transformation experience. You'll be comfortable working between technical teams and business stakeholders and confident challenging existing processes and ways of working.
You'll ideally have experience in:
Business Analysis within IT transformation programmes
Reporting, data or MI workstreams
Requirements gathering and stakeholder workshops
Reviewing and rationalising existing reports
Defining future-state reporting requirements
Data analysis and reporting requirements
Business process mapping and process improvement
Creating wireframes, process flows and functional specifications
Data mapping, migration and validation
UAT planning and execution
Cutover and deployment activities
Working with developers, architects and QA teams
Agile, DevOps and/or Waterfall delivery environments
Experience with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Visio, Excel and Power BI would be beneficial.
Desirable Experience Experience within hospitality, retail or service-based organisations would be advantageous, as would exposure to ERP, CRM, POS or other enterprise business systems.
Experience working across Finance, Operations and Purchasing systems, particularly where multiple systems feed into a wider reporting environment, would also be beneficial.
BCS, IIBA or Agile qualifications would be desirable but are not essential.
