Consultant - Modelling to join our growing team.

Successful candidates will work with a diverse range of clients and assignments, taking on key roles in the delivery of engineering projects within the global rail market.

The Tilt Modelling team use simulation & modelling to analyse the impact of proposed changes to complex railway systems.

This includes assessing the feasibility of proposed infrastructure changes and supporting the development of their business cases as well as analysing capacity on railway networks and their ability to increase service frequency.

The role will include a wide range of both internal and external projects. Examples include:

  • Internal
  • Supporting development of new business processes and supporting their implementation.
  • Supporting internal initiatives, including STEM, EDI, Client Engagement.
  • Conducting market analyses.
  • Supporting Bid writing.
  • Assisting the Tilt Modelling Service Lead in growing the Modelling Service Area by delivering high quality consultancy, building strong client relationships and supporting some business development activities.
  • External
  • Assisting Tilt's Modelling team to deliver simulation and modelling studies, assessing the performance impact of proposed changes to railway infrastructure and operational plans.
  • Working as part of a Tilt project team in the delivery of key client technical work packages.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the defined scope of works to deliver assignments to the client.
  • Work with the Tilt Project Manager to ensure assignments are delivered against quality, time and cost criteria.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with client(s).
  • Provide support on assigned Tilt internal activities.

Skills Required for Role

  • Ability to analyse complex data, draw conclusions, produce reports and make recommendations.
  • Ability to be accountable to yourself and to reliably execute on commitments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels across the business including external stakeholders.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with people at all levels across the organisation, including external parties.
  • Ability to learn and apply new knowledge within allocated assignments.
  • Proficient in the use of office-based computer packages, e. g. MS Office (Teams, Outlook, MS Project, Word and Excel).
  • Non-Essential Desired Experience
  • Previous engineering consultancy experience.
  • Previous rail supplier experience.
  • Hold a Continuing Professional Development record.
