We are looking for a technical writer to join our team and develop clear, engaging documentation for our products and services. This role involves working with the support team, technical staff, and subject matter experts to create content that simplifies complex concepts for end-users. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and creating product documentation materials that support product usability and enhance the user experience.
Key responsibilities
- Developing technical documentation. Create instruction manuals, user guides, white papers, and online help to communicate technical information effectively.
- Collaborating with teams. Work closely with the support team and subject matter experts to gather the details needed for clear and accurate documentation.
- Creating audience-focused content. Adapt content to meet the needs of your target audience, whether they’re entry-level users or experienced professionals.
- Proofreading and revisions. Ensure all content adheres to brand standards while maintaining accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Managing knowledge base articles. Create clear, actionable content, organising it logically and establish a process for regular maintenance.
Qualifications and skills
- Education. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
- Work experience. At least 2 years of experience in technical writing or a similar field.
- Technical skills. Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office, Excel and specialised tools such as MadCap Flare or Adobe FrameMaker. Familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
- Writing skills. Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Soft skills. Strong problem-solving organisational abilities and excellent communication skills for collaborating across teams.
- Knowledge of technical fields. Experience working in information technology or software development environments is ideal.
