This is a rare opportunity to join at the start of something big. The excitement of a startup, with the security of a big, established company. We are helping a large UK-owned software group to build and scale a world-class, AI-first engineering organisation. They have very ambitious plans and the budget to make it happen.
As one of the first hires in the newly established team, you’ll be the technical authority responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the end-to-end architecture of their “AI First” platform, ensuring architectural consistency, secure-by-design principles, and long-term scalability across all engineering squads.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager, Head of Platform, and Product leadership, this role shapes the architectural strategy, drives technical excellence, and provides deep guidance to multiple autonomous squads as they scale towards high-performing, cloud-native teams. The Architect balances hands-on solution design, strategic planning, technical oversight, and stakeholder collaboration to keep the platform robust, secure, and ready for future growth.
A key requirement for the position is a strong understanding of AI technologies such as agents and models for both accelerated design & delivery as well as delivery of product capabilities.
